

Approximately 700 kms. from bangkok Chiang "Must " for every visitor to Thailand. It is the country's major Northem City. Founded in 1296 and located in the highlands it is full of many attracyions and has become known as: "A land of beauty, graceful, attractive, mist-shrounded mountain secenry, fertile valleyes, hospitality, spirituality with a unique culture, art and handicraffs" Many lowland Thais regard Chiang Mai as a national Shangri-la. Mountains surrounding Chiang Mai provide arresting scenic beauty and host several once-itinerant hill tribes of Tiber-Burmese origin.

Perthaps the most importhant asset Chiang Mai can claim is its people. Chiang Mai has its own dialect, costumers, dances and cuisine, which have given it a sense of cultural security. CLIMATE
Chaing Mai has three seasons as do most other provinces in Thailand. During the cool season, the average temperature is 21 C and much cooler at night, so it's necessary for travelers to bring sweaters and jackets during the winter months, Nov.-Feb.
